The appointment coincides with a massive growth pathway for India’s wind sector, which achieved a record 6.5 GW of installations last year.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, emphasized that the domestic market holds the potential to scale to 13–15 GW of annual installations in the coming years.

Girish stated that Ashok’s expertise in operational scaling will solidify Suzlon’s market dominance during this next phase.

CEO Ajay Kapur echoed these sentiments, expressing confidence that Ashok’s leadership will raise performance benchmarks for both the company and the wider clean energy sector.
