Cisco Launches Virtual Internship Program 2026 for 50,000 Students

Cisco, in collaboration with All India Council for Technical Education, has announced the launch of the Cisco Virtual Internship Program 2026, a nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening digital skills and improving employability among Indian students.
The two-month virtual internship program is open to students across engineering, technical, and non-technical streams and is expected to offer 50,000 internship opportunities across India.
The program reflects the growing focus on industry-academia collaboration to prepare students for emerging technology roles in Networking, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence.
Registrations for the internship are currently open, and interested candidates can apply until May 20, 2026.
Focus on Networking, Cybersecurity, and AI Skills
The internship program will be conducted through the Cisco Networking Academy (NetAcad) platform and its affiliated institutional partners.
Students selected for the program will undergo structured technical learning modules, participate in industry-led sessions, and work on assigned projects under expert mentorship.
According to the program details, participants will gain exposure to real-world technology environments while learning through guided coursework and practical assignments. Cisco technical leaders and NetAcad instructors will mentor shortlisted students during the internship period.
Students will also be required to complete designated online courses, earn digital badges as proof of learning, and undertake a final project submission followed by an assessment quiz.
Eligibility and Program Structure
The internship is open to first, second, and third-year students pursuing B.Tech, B.E., MCA, BCA, M.Tech, diploma, B.Sc., and M.Sc. programs. Final-year students are not eligible for this phase of the initiative.
To participate, students must belong to institutions affiliated with the Cisco Networking Academy. Eligible candidates are expected to complete the entire eight-week virtual learning journey and actively participate in mentoring sessions and project work.
The internship will begin immediately after selection and will be conducted entirely in virtual mode. While the program does not offer a stipend, selected participants who successfully complete all requirements will receive a joint Internship Completion Certificate from Cisco and AICTE.
Interested candidates can apply through AICTE Internship portal.
Industry Exposure and Employability Enhancement
The initiative is part of broader efforts to build a future-ready digital workforce in India. By combining industry mentorship with practical learning, the program aims to help students strengthen their technical foundation and gain exposure to professional workflows and global technology standards.
