JPMorgan Chase is planning to hire around 1,000 technology professionals at its India Global Capability Centre (GCC).

The hiring comes at a time when the bank says artificial intelligence (AI) has reduced staffing requirements by 30% to 40% in some functions, showing how AI is changing the type of talent companies need.
The recruitment will focus on roles in cloud architecture, cybersecurity, AI data pipelines, software engineering, and system architecture.
As part of the hiring process, candidates are expected to complete HackerRank-based technical assessments covering coding, algorithms, data structures, and system design.

Hiring to Support Technology Growth
JPMorgan Chase has around 55,000 employees across five Indian cities, with its largest GCC operations in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
These centres support technology and operations for both the J.P. Morgan investment banking business and the Chase consumer banking business.
The new hiring is expected to strengthen the bank’s technology teams working on AI, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital products for its global operations.
The recruitment also supports JPMorgan’s long-term expansion plans in India. The company recently announced that it will build a 2-million-square-foot GCC campus in Mumbai by 2029.

The facility is expected to house around 30,000 technology and operations professionals, making it the bank’s largest campus in Asia.
AI Is Changing Workforce Needs
The hiring plans come shortly after JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said during the bank’s second-quarter earnings call that AI has helped reduce staffing needs by 30% to 40% in some areas of the business through higher productivity.
At the same time, Dimon said these productivity gains are unlikely to remain a long-term competitive advantage as AI becomes more widely adopted across the financial industry.
JPMorgan’s latest hiring plans reflect a trend seen across many global companies. While AI is reducing the need for some routine roles, demand continues to grow for professionals with skills in AI, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and software engineering.
India Remains a Key GCC Destination
India continues to attract investments from global companies looking to expand their GCC operations.
According to industry estimates, the country has more than 2,100 GCCs employing nearly 2.4 million professionals and generating about $98.4 billion in annual revenue.
With continued investments in digital transformation and AI, companies are expected to further expand their technology teams in India over the coming years.
