DRDO’s ACEM Announces Paid Internship Scheme 2026-27

DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation), under its Advanced Centre for Energetic Materials (ACEM), Nashik, has invited applications for the Paid Internship Scheme 2026-27 for engineering students.

The internship is open to undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students from recognised institutions.

ACEM is a composite propellant processing facility of DRDO that supports strategic missile programmes by developing rocket motors and related systems.

The internship duration will be six months, starting from July 1, 2026.

Internship Details

Selected students will receive a stipend of Rs 5,000 per month. The internship positions are available in the following disciplines:

• Chemical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Armament Engineering
• Defence Technology
• Production Engineering
• Aero Engineering
• Rocket Propulsion Systems
• AI & ML
• Data Science
• Computer Engineering
• Information Technology

A total of five vacancies have been announced. However, ACEM stated that the number of positions may change based on requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Students in the 7th or 8th semester of an undergraduate engineering program or in the first/second year of a postgraduate engineering program can apply.

Applicants must:

• Have a minimum 85% marks or 8.5 CGPA in previous semesters
• Be below 28 years of age
• Study in AICTE/UGC-approved institutions
• Submit a recommendation letter from their Principal or Director

Candidates are also required to submit a short biodata highlighting achievements and academic performance.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on merit, interview, or interaction conducted by the selection committee. Only shortlisted students will be informed about further joining procedures.

The internship requires a minimum physical attendance of 15 working days every month. Stipend payment will be made in two installments, with the first installment released after successful completion of three months.

ACEM has clarified that completion of the internship will not guarantee employment with DRDO.
