Located at Delta Park Lords in Kolkata, the specialized facility marks an intensification of TCS’s 35-year strategic alliance with Oracle, focusing squarely on transitioning enterprise artificial intelligence from experimental pilots to full-scale industrial operations.

To capitalize on surging enterprise demand for sovereign cloud and generative AI infrastructure, TCS announced a roadmap to establish matching Oracle AI labs in four additional Indian cities over the next three years.

Overcoming the “Pilot Trap” in Enterprise AI

Corporations globally have spent the last few years testing narrow AI use cases.

However, a significant majority struggle to operationalize these applications across business functions.

Enterprises frequently run into operational roadblocks, including highly fragmented data environments, sluggish analytics cycles, limited compute scalability, and rigid infrastructure limitations.

The Kolkata facility is specifically designed to function as an institutional sandbox to solve these architectural friction points.

It provides enterprise clients with reusable software architectures, pre-built accelerators, and industry-specific blueprints.

These tools make legacy corporate data “AI-ready” before deployment.

Technical Architecture: Powering Agentic AI

The new Center of Excellence is powered natively by the Oracle AI Data Platform. The underlying technology layer synthesizes three core components:

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI): Delivering scalable, high-performance cloud compute.
  • Oracle Autonomous AI Database: Automating structural database provisioning, patching, backups, and real-time scaling.Tech in Asia
  • OCI Enterprise AI: Enabling the secure creation and deployment of sophisticated, agentic AI systems.

“The facility is designed to accelerate the journey from ideation to experimentation to full-scale deployment,” stated Sudipto Ray, Vice President and Global Head of the Oracle Practice at TCS.

Sudipto emphasized that the lab allows global clients to rapidly prototype and reimagine operational strategies.

TCS Scaled Delivery and Market Position

TCS leverages a centralized internal workforce of 26,000 Oracle-certified engineering professionals across India.

This talent pool supports the nationwide expansion and its broader global pipeline.

Arvind Mehra, Head of Alliances and Channels for Technology at Oracle India, noted that the joint initiative secures a distinct first-mover advantage for TCS.

It equips regulated sectors like banking and healthcare with a secure, unified data foundation to scale intelligent automation safely.
