Rolled out in India, the initiative marks a foundational shift for the company as it pivots from traditional back-office software maintenance into a specialized “AI builder” organization.
Cognizant Developing Full-Stack AI Engineers
The program combines highly selective recruitment with a centrally governed engineering community designed to build complex, enterprise-ready artificial intelligence solutions.
Candidates selected for the Ace Team will bypass routine IT onboarding to join early-stage client projects as Full-Stack AI Engineers.

Instead of relying on legacy software integration, these engineers will build production-grade, AI-native capabilities.
Their work will span cutting-edge enterprise domains, including Large Language Model (LLM) integrated applications, complex Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, and autonomous agentic AI workflows capable of planning and reasoning across enterprise operations.
Skill-First Selection and Premium Salaries
Departing from conventional, university-ranking-based tech hiring, Cognizant is enforcing a strict capability-led selection process.

Candidates undergo a multi-stage evaluation assessing advanced technical proficiency, aptitude, communication skills, and data structures.
Evaluation criteria prioritize specialized competency in prompt engineering and AI orchestration frameworks (such as LangChain) over academic pedigree alone.
To capture elite talent in a fiercely competitive market, Cognizant is introducing aggressive compensation structures.Campus documentation reveals starting salaries ranging from ₹12 Lakhs Per Annum (LPA) for Associate level roles up to ₹18 LPA for Senior Associates.
This represents a massive premium over standard entry-level IT services packages.
Accelerating Enterprise AI Deployment
The launch addresses a major market evolution, as global clients rapidly transition from exploratory AI pilots to real-world, large-scale execution.
“Delivering measurable, scalable AI outcomes increasingly depends on AI-ready skills and strong engineering fundamentals,” stated Rajesh Varrier, President of Global Operations and Chairman & Managing Director of Cognizant India.
The initial rollout phase targets high-potential 2026 graduates, existing offer holders, and select off-campus candidates from Tier-1 institutions.
Over time, Cognizant plans to scale the Ace Team ecosystem to include premium university partners, lateral industry hires with up to three years of experience, and internal associates.
