As a launch partner for Rubrik’s Project Hourglass, an initiative aimed at delivering agentic resilience for enterprise AI coding agents, Cognizant plans to become one of the first global systems integrators (GSIs) to operationalize the offering as a governance layer across its AI delivery platforms.

The collaboration comes as enterprises increasingly move agentic AI from pilot projects into production environments, where AI agents are capable of writing code, accessing data, and executing actions across enterprise systems with varying levels of human oversight.

As AI adoption accelerates, organizations are placing greater emphasis on governance, visibility, and operational control.

Bringing Governance to Enterprise AI Operations

Under the expanded alliance, Cognizant will integrate Rubrik Agent Cloud into its Neuro® AI platform and AI Factory.

The combined solution is designed to provide enterprises with enhanced visibility into AI agent activities, enforce governance policies, and support rollback capabilities when agents execute unintended actions.

“Enterprises everywhere are working to operationalize AI, and many reach the same point of friction: they need greater visibility into what their agents are doing, and they need the ability to reverse course when an agent acts in error,” said Sriram Kumaresan, Global Head of Cloud and Infrastructure Services at Cognizant.

According to Cognizant, the integration will allow organizations to monitor agent actions, assess the impact of AI-driven changes, and maintain oversight while enabling greater automation.

Focus on Regulated Industries

The two companies have jointly developed an implementation framework for deploying Rubrik Agent Cloud within Cognizant’s delivery ecosystem.

Initial deployments will focus on highly regulated sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, financial services, and insurance, where compliance, auditability, and operational control are critical.

Rubrik Chief Solutions Officer Alok Agrawal said that enterprise leaders are increasingly seeking ways to allow AI agents to write and deploy code without introducing significant new risks.

He noted Rubrik Agent Cloud was built to provide visibility into agent activities, define operational boundaries, and enable corrective actions when necessary.

Within Cognizant’s AI Factory, the platform is designed to enforce access and action policies, detect activities outside approved guardrails, and maintain auditable records of AI decisions.

The controls are aligned with recognized governance frameworks, including the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and ISO/IEC 42001.

Together, Cognizant and Rubrik aim to help enterprises accelerate AI adoption while maintaining the oversight, transparency, and resilience required for production-scale autonomous AI deployments.
