PwC India, SAP India Launch 18-Month Skill Programme for Engineering Students

PwC India and SAP India have announced an 18-month skill development programme for engineering students in India.

The programme will provide students with industry-relevant skills, SAP certifications and practical exposure to help them prepare for technology-focused careers.

The initiative was launched through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar.

KIIT is the first academic institution to partner with PwC India and SAP India under the University Alliances initiative in India. The programme will later be expanded to other universities across the country.

Industry-Academia Partnership to Build Job-Ready Talent

The programme is aimed at Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) students from Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology and AI/ML disciplines.

It combines SAP-certified learning with practical industry experience and focused skill-building sessions. The aim is to help students gain a better understanding of workplace requirements and prepare for technology-related careers.

Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson, PwC in India, said India has an opportunity to become a global talent engine, but stronger collaboration between academia and industry is needed to achieve this.

He said the programme will provide students with future-ready skills and hands-on experience as they prepare to enter the workforce.

SAP Skills, Certifications and Practical Industry Exposure

The programme will give students exposure to SAP technologies along with structured learning and practical experience. This is expected to help bridge the gap between classroom education and the skills required in the workplace.

Manish Prasad, President & Managing Director, SAP India, said industry-academia collaboration is important as AI continues to change the future of work.

He said the partnership with PwC India will give students hands-on exposure to SAP technologies and future-ready skills through the SAP University Alliances Program in India.

Internships and Career Opportunities for Top-Performing Students

Students who demonstrate strong performance during the programme will be eligible for six-month internships with PwC India. They may also have opportunities for full-time employment, subject to the company’s selection process and requirements.

The initiative is aligned with PwC India’s Vision 2030, which focuses on providing accessible and affordable learning opportunities to young people, supporting their transition into employment and building a skilled workforce.

PwC India said it remains committed to strengthening industry-academia partnerships and creating better pathways for students to move from education to employment.

The programme with SAP India and KIIT is the first step under this initiative, with plans to extend it to other universities in India.
