AmbujaNeotia Group Appoints Subhashish Das as Group CHRO

AmbujaNeotia Group has appointed senior HR leader Subhashish Das as its Group Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

In his new role, Subhashish will work on building strong leadership capabilities, bringing talent together across the group’s businesses, and setting a long-term people & culture plan that supports the group’s values and growth goals.

On social media, Subhashish expressed deep personal and professional enthusiasm for the role. He described the move as both an exciting new chapter and a “homecoming,” reflecting on the fact that his HR career began nearly three decades ago with Ambuja Cement.

Deep HR Experience

Subhashish brings close to three decades of experience in human resources across major industrial, consumer, and infrastructure companies in India.

He started his career at Ambuja Cements in March 1995 as General Manager – HRM. Over the next eleven years, until February 2006, he worked closely with senior leadership during a key growth phase, helping build strong people practices and workplace culture.

In March 2006, he joined Berger Paints India as Vice President – Corporate HR & Personnel. He spent nearly 14 years with the company, until February 2020, where he led leadership development, managed industrial relations, and drove large company-wide HR programs.

From March 2020 to July 2023, Subhashish served as President – HR & CHRO at Alok Industries. During this time, he guided the people function through a challenging period of restructuring and operational change.

Most recently, between September 2023 and November 2025, he was President – HR & CHRO at J M Baxi Group, where he handled people strategy for the logistics and maritime group.

Throughout his career, Subhashish has spoken openly about the guidance he received from mentors and colleagues. He has thanked teams at Ambuja Cement Eastern, Berger Paints, Alok Industries, and J M Baxi Group, and has paid tribute to late Shri R K Mukherjee, late Shri P Bhaskar Rao, and Shri Subir Bose.
