The decision gives employers another three months to voluntarily enrol eligible employees who were left out of the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) despite being eligible.
The campaign is aimed at increasing EPF coverage by allowing employers to declare employees who should have been enrolled earlier but were not.
With the extension, employers now have additional time to complete the enrolment process and ensure eligible workers are brought under the social security system.
Who Can Be Enrolled?

Under the campaign, employers can enrol employees who:
- Were eligible for EPF but were not enrolled during the period from April 1, 2009, to March 31, 2026.
- Are alive and continue to work with the establishment on the date the declaration is made.
- Meet the eligibility conditions under the EPF Scheme.
The campaign is meant for employees who were missed in the past and are still employed with the organisation.
What the Extension Means for Employers
The extension provides employers with more time to review their records and identify employees who were not enrolled despite being eligible. It also gives them an opportunity to complete the enrolment process under the campaign instead of delaying compliance further.

Employers are expected to submit the required declarations and complete the formalities before the new deadline. They must also follow the conditions and procedures laid down under the campaign.
Benefits for Employees
Employees who are enrolled through the campaign will become part of the EPF system and will be eligible for benefits available under the scheme, subject to the applicable rules. These include provident fund savings, pension benefits, and insurance coverage.
The campaign is expected to help more workers receive social security benefits that they may have missed because they were not enrolled earlier.
