NITI Aayog Opens Internship 2026 Applications, Apply by May 10

NITI Aayog has invited applications for its Internship Scheme 2026. The programme is open to undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and research scholars from recognised institutions in India and abroad.

The internship gives students practical exposure to public policy, governance, research, and administration at the national level.

Selected interns will work at NITI Aayog’s offices in New Delhi alongside policy experts and different departments. Their work may include preparing policy reports, reviewing data, supporting research activities, and helping with government policy studies.

The programme gives students direct experience in how public policies are planned and reviewed in India.

Eligibility and Internship Duration

Undergraduate students who have completed at least two years or four semesters of their course are eligible to apply.

Postgraduate students and research scholars enrolled in full-time programmes can also apply. Applicants must meet the academic performance requirements mentioned in the official guidelines.

The internship duration ranges from a minimum of six weeks to a maximum of six months. The exact period depends on the assigned project and department requirements. Interns are also expected to carry their own laptops during the internship period.

Application Process and Benefits

Interested students can apply online through the official NITI Aayog internship portal. Applications are generally accepted from the 1st to the 10th of every month for internships planned for the following month.

Candidates must submit academic documents, a resume, a statement of purpose, and other required details during the application process.

The internship is generally unpaid. However, students who complete the programme successfully will receive an official certificate from NITI Aayog.

The programme is considered valuable for students interested in careers related to public policy, economics, governance, development studies, and public administration.

Deadline

The application deadline for the NITI Aayog Internship 2026 is generally the 10th of every month. Applications are accepted online from the 1st to the 10th for internships scheduled in the following months.

Interested candidates for the July 2026 batch should apply by May 10, 20206.
