Alongside the acquisition, Porsche has committed €1.25 billion over five years to TCS and MHP for technology and consulting services. The agreement will focus on using AI across Porsche’s engineering, manufacturing, operations and customer experience functions.
The partnership will also cover next-generation automotive technology and software-defined mobility platforms. TCS will set up an AI Mobility Centre of Excellence for Porsche as part of the agreement.
For TCS, the acquisition adds MHP’s automotive and industrial consulting capabilities and expands its presence in the European market. From an HR perspective, the transaction brings around 4,500 MHP employees into the TCS group, although the companies have not announced any specific changes to MHP’s workforce.
The deal comes as AI is changing the Indian IT services industry, with clients reviewing traditional technology spending and outsourcing models. Reuters reported that India’s IT industry, valued at about $315 billion, is facing pressure as companies reassess technology budgets amid the wider adoption of AI.
Final Words
The TCS-MHP deal strengthens TCS’s presence in automotive and industrial consulting while adding MHP’s 4,500-strong workforce to the group.
The separate €1.25 billion Porsche partnership also gives TCS and MHP a larger role in AI, engineering and software-defined mobility, as demand for technology services continues to change.
