Alex Katouzian to Lead Client Computing and AI Systems

Alex Katouzian will take on the role of executive vice president and general manager of Intel’s Client Computing and Physical AI Group. He will focus on bringing together personal computing with newer AI systems, such as robots, self-running machines, and edge devices.

CEO Lip-Bu Tan said AI is opening new opportunities at the edge and changing how computing systems are built and used. He added that Katouzian’s strong technical background and experience with large-scale platforms make him a good fit for this role.

Katouzian joins from Qualcomm Technologies, where he led mobile, computing, and XR efforts. He is known for building and growing large computing platforms.

Katouzian said he is excited to join Intel as it works on AI PCs, edge AI, and physical AI systems. He will start in May.

Pushkar Ranade Named Chief Technology Officer

Pushkar Ranade has been officially named chief technology officer after serving in the role on an interim basis. He will lead Intel’s technology plans and guide work in areas like quantum computing, neuromorphic systems, photonics, and advanced materials.

Ranade will also continue as chief of staff to the CEO, helping keep the company’s technology work aligned with its business goals.

Both Katouzian and Ranade will report directly to Lip-Bu Tan, showing Intel’s focus on strong leadership as it moves forward.
