Schaeffler India Appoints Amit Bhalerao as Chief Operating Officer

Schaeffler India has appointed Amit Bhalerao as Chief Operating Officer, effective August 10, 2026.

As COO, Amit will lead manufacturing operations across India and work on manufacturing strategy, operational performance, digital initiatives and capability development.
Welcoming Amit, Harsha Kadam, Managing Director and CEO, Schaeffler India, said India remains an important growth market for the company.
He added that Amit’s experience in manufacturing operations, operational excellence and team building will help strengthen manufacturing competitiveness, customer focus and innovation, while supporting Schaeffler India’s continued growth in the country.

Amit brings more than 23 years of global experience in manufacturing and operations, with expertise in operational excellence, lean transformation, supply chain management, quality and business performance.
Before joining Schaeffler India, Amit was Managing Director and Vice President of Operations at Kelvion India. He has also held senior roles with Kelvion, including responsibility for operational excellence and plant operations.
Earlier, he spent more than six years with Cummins in general management and programme leadership roles. His career also includes senior positions at Eaton and Sterlite Technologies, where he worked in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and operational excellence.
Amit began his career in engineering and manufacturing roles with companies including CSG and Duer Carolina Coil. His professional experience includes assignments and leadership responsibilities across India, Europe, China and the United States.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering and Information Systems from Clemson University in the US.
