Sony Pictures Networks India Appoints Amit Mehta as CHRO

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) today announced the appointment of Amit Mehta as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective October 1, 2026.

He will succeed Manu Wadhwa and join the company’s Senior Management Team. As previously announced, Manu will continue her association with SPNI as Strategy Advisor.
In his new role, Amit will lead SPNI’s People & Organisation function, along with Administration & Facilities. He will partner with the CEO and the Senior Management Team on talent and succession, leadership development, culture, employee experience and organisational effectiveness, while building the capabilities required to support the company’s next phase of growth.

Amit brings over 16 years of experience partnering with CEOs and business leaders on growth, transformation and organisational effectiveness.

Amit joins SPNI from upGrad, where he served as Chief Human Resources Officer and led the people agenda for the high-growth, founder-led organisation. His responsibilities included leadership effectiveness, organisational capability and transformation.
Prior to upGrad, Amit spent more than 14 years with Hindustan Unilever Limited, most recently serving as HR Head – Home Care & Leadership Development, South Asia. During his tenure, he held leadership roles across talent and leadership development, employer brand, organisation design and business HR for Sales, Marketing and Digital Commerce.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, Amit holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Information Technology from VJTI Mumbai.
