Wipro Appoints Chayan Mehrotra as GM and Head – Life Sciences, West Coast

Wipro has appointed Chayan Mehrotra as General Manager and Territory Head – Life Sciences, West Coast, where he will lead the company’s Life Sciences business across the region.

In his new role, Chayan will be responsible for a $125 million-plus ACV portfolio, driving high-growth business, building strategic partnerships and helping clients accelerate transformation through technology, AI and innovation across the Life Sciences industry.

Extensive Experience

Before joining Wipro, Chayan spent nearly three years with Persistent Systems, where he most recently served as Vice President of Sales.

He was responsible for the Scientific Instruments and Medical Devices business and helped scale the portfolio from $5 million to more than $25 million in ACV over three years. He also worked across new-logo acquisition and growth of existing Life Sciences accounts.

Earlier, Chayan was Associate Vice President – Sales at Persistent Systems, focusing on Scientific Instruments and Medical Devices.

Before Persistent Systems, he spent around six years with Cognizant as Director – Sales, Senior Client Partner and Engagement Lead. His work included large US healthcare and US- and UK-based pharmaceutical clients.

He previously spent about a decade with Tata Consultancy Services as Senior Client Partner, Engagement Lead and Engineering Manager, working with large pharmaceutical and healthcare organisations across the US, UK and India.

Chayan began his career with 3i Infotech as a Senior Software Engineer and also worked as a Software Engineer at Nagarro.

His experience spans sales, client partnerships, engineering, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and Life Sciences.
