Linde Expands India Semiconductor Footprint, Acquires Land Parcel in Sanand

Linde has acquired a land parcel in Sanand, Gujarat, to set up a new facility as the company expands its presence in India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem.

The move comes as Gujarat develops into a key hub for semiconductor manufacturing and packaging projects.

The new facility will support semiconductor packaging operations in Sanand by supplying industrial gases required for manufacturing.

Linde is also building an air separation unit in Dholera to supply gases to Tata Group’s upcoming semiconductor fabrication plant.

Linde’s latest move adds to its existing presence in Gujarat. The company already operates an air separation plant at Dahej and a packaged gases unit in Ahmedabad. Key developments include:

• Sanand facility: Linde has acquired land to establish a new facility supporting semiconductor packaging operations.
• Dholera project: The company is building an air separation unit to supply gases to Tata Group’s semiconductor fabrication plant.
• Existing Gujarat presence: Linde operates an air separation plant at Dahej and a packaged gases unit in Ahmedabad.

Sanand is becoming an important semiconductor manufacturing and packaging hub, with projects from companies including Micron, CG Power and Kaynes Technology. The Tata Group is also developing a semiconductor fabrication plant at Dholera.

Industrial gases such as nitrogen, oxygen and specialty gases are important inputs for semiconductor manufacturing and related processes.
