The restructuring spans multiple business verticals, including banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), cybersecurity, communications and media, energy, resources and utilities, travel and hospitality, as well as the US West Coast business.

The company has also created dedicated business units for Autonomous Business Operations and ServiceNow operations.

BFSI Vertical Undergoes Major Restructuring

The most significant organisational changes have been made in TCS’ Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) vertical, which contributes more than 30% of the company’s overall revenue.

As part of the restructuring, Susheel Vasudevan, currently Business Group Head for BFSI Americas, has been moved to a strategic role reporting directly to TCS CEO and Managing Director K. Krithivasan.

The BFSI Americas business has now been split into two separate business groups. Rakesh Kumar, currently ISU Head for BFSI US West, and Mohan Veeturi, currently ISU Head for BFSI US East Banking, have been appointed as Business Group Heads of the newly created units.

In an internal communication, Krithivasan said the changes are aimed at strengthening leadership capabilities amid rapid changes in the technology landscape.

Over the last several years, BFSI Americas has been one of the most significant contributors to TCS’ growth and market leadership. At the same time, we are witnessing profound shifts in our industry driven by AI, changing client expectations, platform modernisation, and new operating models. It is important to stay close to the changing needs of our clients and markets and strengthen our leadership bandwidth to bring even greater focus.

New Leadership Across Key Business Segments

TCS has also announced several leadership appointments across its global operations.

Following the appointment of Soumen Roy as the head of TCS Global Value & Innovation Centres Business Unit, Manmeet Chhabra, currently ISU Head for BFSI Canada, has been named Country Head for TCS Canada.

Meanwhile, Sabyasachi Chandra (Saby), who currently leads the North America Utilities unit, will head the newly created Energy, Resources & Utilities Business Group.

Explaining the move, Krithivasan said the new structure is intended to provide dedicated leadership focus for industry segments undergoing AI-driven transformation.

The company has also strengthened its cybersecurity business by appointing Kumaranarayanan, currently ISU Head of North America Energy & Resources, as the new head of the Cybersecurity business unit.

Dedicated Business Units for AI Era

As part of its broader organisational overhaul, TCS has created several new business units to sharpen its focus on emerging technologies and industry-specific opportunities.

A dedicated Travel, Transport & Hospitality (TTH) Business Group has been established, with Arun Pradeep, who previously led the TTH UK & Europe ISU, taking charge as Business Group Head.

Additionally, Ganesa Vaikuntam has been appointed ISU Head for Life Sciences UK & Europe.

The company has also established a dedicated US West Coast Business Group, recognising the strategic importance of the region, which is home to many of the world’s leading technology companies and AI innovators.

Alongside this, TCS has created dedicated business units for Autonomous Business Operations and ServiceNow operations, reflecting increasing client demand for AI-enabled automation and enterprise platform services.

Part of Broader AI Strategy

The leadership restructuring comes as TCS accelerates its AI strategy.

The company recently announced plans to build a team of up to 8,900 forward-deployed engineers (FDEs) to help enterprises implement AI solutions and is also exploring acquisitions in AI, cybersecurity, and data security to strengthen its capabilities.

The latest organisational changes are aimed at enhancing leadership bandwidth, improving customer engagement, and enabling faster decision-making as enterprises increasingly seek integrated AI, cloud, cybersecurity, and automation solutions.

With AI rapidly reshaping enterprise technology spending, TCS is aligning its leadership structure, business units, and talent strategy to strengthen its position in the next phase of digital transformation.
