Anup Kumar Saha Appointed MD & CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank

Kotak Mahindra Bank has appointed Anup Kumar Saha as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for a three-year term from January 1, 2027, following approval from the Reserve Bank of India.

Currently, he is a whole-time Director at Kotak Mahindra Bank, Anup will take charge as MD & CEO after Ashok Vaswani’s term ends on December 31, 2026.

He will oversee the bank’s key businesses and functions, including customer-facing operations and business execution.

Extensive Experience

Anup brings more than 32 years of professional experience, including around 25 years across banking and non-banking financial services.

He joined Kotak Mahindra Bank in 2026 and currently oversees Consumer Banking, Government Business, Data Analytics and Marketing.

Before Kotak Mahindra Bank, Anup spent more than seven years with Bajaj Finance, where he held several senior positions.

He served as President–Consumer Finance, Deputy CEO, Executive Director, Deputy Managing Director and later Managing Director & CEO. His responsibilities included consumer finance, MSME, marketing, operations, service and digital platforms.

Earlier, Anup spent 14 years with ICICI Bank in senior roles covering retail secured assets, business intelligence, retail and rural collections, credit cards and retail structured finance.

He also served as a nominee director on the boards of TransUnion CIBIL and ICICI Home Finance.

At the beginning of his career, Anup worked with GE Capital in credit cards, sales and analytics. He also worked with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited in production engineering.

Anup holds a B.Tech degree in Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and an MBA from IIM Lucknow.
