Axis Bank Appoints Rajeev Mantri as Group Head and CFO

Axis Bank has appointed Rajeev Mantri as Group Head and Chief Financial Officer, effective September 28, 2026.

In his new role, Rajeev will lead the bank’s Finance function, covering financial planning, reporting, balance sheet management, capital, controls, regulatory matters, tax, cost management and investor relations.

Extensive Experience

Before joining Axis Bank, Rajeev served as Executive President and Chief Financial Officer at Bandhan Bank for about two-and-a-half years.

He was responsible for Finance and Strategy, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, controls, reporting, balance sheet, capital and cost management, tax, procurement, payments and investor relations.

Earlier, he spent over two years at Citi as Managing Director, CFO India and Cluster Finance Head, South Asia. He managed the Finance function for India and oversaw finance activities in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Before Citi, Rajeev was Chief Financial Officer at TransUnion CIBIL for nearly three years, handling finance, internal audit, procurement and facilities management.

He spent more than eight years at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore and held several finance leadership positions covering investments, cost management, retail lending, balance sheet management, financial control and regulatory reporting.

Earlier, he worked at Mashreq Bank as VP Finance, Corporate, Investment and Private Banking for nearly four years. He also spent over five years with Standard Chartered in Mumbai across business finance and management accounting roles.

Rajeev began his career with Diageo as Assistant Manager Finance and has worked across India, Singapore and the UAE.

He is a Chartered Accountant from ICAI and holds a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD Business School, Singapore.
