BASF India Appoints Pooja Venkatram as Director and Head- HR

BASF India, a Leading Chemical Company, Appoints Pooja Venkatram as Director and Head- Human Resources.

In her new role, Pooja will lead the HR function at BASF India, with responsibilities across people management, talent, employee engagement and organisation development. She is based in Mumbai and joined BASF in August 2026.

Extensive Experience

Pooja brings nearly 2 decades of HR experience across consumer goods, FMCG and professional services, with expertise in employer branding, organisation design and restructuring, executive compensation, talent management, talent acquisition, and supporting start-up and scale-up businesses.

Before joining BASF, she spent over six years with Mattel Asia Pacific as Regional HR Head – South Asia, working across markets including India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

Before Mattel, she was Head HR – India at General Mills for around two and a half years.

She had earlier spent nearly six years with Mondelēz International in roles including HR Business Lead – Integrated Supply Chain AMEA, HR Manager – Corporate Functions and ITS, Talent and Organisation Effectiveness Manager, and Employee Insights & Entry Talent.

Pooja began her career with Godrej Consumer Products as Talent and OD Manager, where she worked on performance management, talent management, employee engagement and organisation development. She started her professional career with Right Management as a Management Consultant.

She holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, completed between 2005 and 2007.
