Julius Baer India Appoints Jayesh Kothari as CHRO

Julius Baer India has appointed Jayesh Kothari as Chief Human Resources Officer, India, effective September 17, 2026, as the firm expands its business in the country.

In his new role, Jayesh will support the company’s India growth plans, including expanding its relationship manager base, strengthening mid-office functions, developing internal talent, building leadership capabilities and creating career opportunities for employees.

Extensive Experience

Jayesh brings more than 25 years of experience in human resources and financial services. He joins Julius Baer from Barclays, where he spent 11 years in senior HR leadership roles.

Most recently, Jayesh served as Interim HR Business Partner for Barclays’ Private Bank business, supporting the UK and Crown Dependencies and international Private Bank locations across Switzerland, Monaco, Ireland, UAE, India and Singapore.

Earlier, he was HR Business Partner for Barclays Private Bank in APAC. His work at Barclays included supporting talent strategies, leadership development and business transformation initiatives across the private banking business.

Before Barclays, Jayesh held senior HR leadership roles at Kotak Mahindra Capital and Lehman Brothers. He also worked with HSBC Securities & Capital Markets and ICICI Lombard General Insurance.

His professional experience covers private banking, investment banking, markets, asset management, wealth management, insurance and shared services. He has worked with businesses during periods of growth and organisational change, with a focus on talent and organisational effectiveness.

Jayesh holds an MBA in Human Resources and a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
