Tata Elxsi Appoints Rakesh Prasad as Head – Talent Acquisition

Bengaluru, India — Tata Elxsi, part of the Tata Group, has appointed Rakesh Prasad as Head – Talent Acquisition.

In his new role at Tata Elxsi, he will lead enterprise-wide hiring across Engineering R&D and Design & Technology verticals, supporting global growth.

He focuses on building scalable talent frameworks, strengthening sourcing infrastructure, enhancing recruitment capabilities, and improving hiring efficiency to attract specialised engineering and deep-tech talent in competitive markets.

Extensive Experience

Prior to this, Rakesh held senior leadership roles at Tech Mahindra, where he served as General Manager and earlier as Director – Talent Acquisition.

During his tenure, he led large-scale hiring operations across Silicon (VLSI), Digital Enterprise Applications, and Industrial domains, delivering more than 1,750 hires and managing over 3,200 annual requisitions. He also improved offer acceptance rates and reduced time-to-fill, while leading a large team of TA professionals.

Earlier, he worked with L&T Technology Services and KPIT Technologies, where he contributed to scaling recruitment functions across digital, engineering, and mobility-focused business units.

Rakesh began his HR career at Cusat Technologies, where he played a key role in building recruitment systems and driving business expansion. Over the years, his career has been defined by data-driven hiring strategies, leadership in large-scale talent transformation, and building future-ready workforce capabilities across India’s technology sector.

Rakesh holds an MBA in Human Resource and Marketing from Bangalore University and a Master Diploma in Personnel Management & HRD from IIMM, completed between 2002 and 2004.
