The transaction became effective on June 22, 2026, marking Cognizant’s second completed acquisition of 2026 after the acquisition of 3Cloud earlier this year.

It shows Cognizant’s continued investment in AI-led digital transformation as enterprises increasingly seek scalable infrastructure to support next-generation AI workloads.

Expanding AI Infrastructure Capabilities

With the addition of Astreya, Cognizant is significantly enhancing its capabilities across AI infrastructure, enterprise networking, data center operations, digital workplace services, and AI-first managed operations.

Founded in 2001, Astreya operates in more than 35 countries and employs approximately 2,600 professionals. The company has built deep expertise in managing complex technology environments for some of the world’s largest technology companies, including six of the “Magnificent Seven” hyperscalers.

By combining Astreya’s operational expertise with Cognizant’s global delivery model and AI engineering capabilities, the company aims to help enterprises design, build, operate, and optimize intelligent infrastructure that supports AI adoption at scale.

Leadership Comments

Commenting on the acquisition, Ravi Kumar S., Chief Executive Officer of Cognizant, said the integration will strengthen the company’s ability to operationalize enterprise AI.

“By combining Astreya’s capabilities with Cognizant’s global scale and AI platform, we are better positioned to help clients operationalize AI systems and infrastructure.”

Romil Bahl, President and Chief Executive Officer of Astreya, described the deal as the beginning of a new phase for the company.

“This transaction brings together shared values, complementary expertise, and a common vision for the future of AI-first IT managed services. Joining Cognizant gives us the scale to amplify our impact globally while creating new opportunities for our employees and partners.”

Cognizant’s Second Acquisition of 2026

The completion of the Astreya deal follows Cognizant’s acquisition of 3Cloud, completed on January 1, 2026, which strengthened the company’s Microsoft Azure cloud and enterprise AI capabilities.

With Astreya now integrated into its operations, Cognizant has completed two strategic acquisitions in 2026, both focused on expanding its AI ecosystem and cloud transformation capabilities.

These acquisitions reflect the company’s broader strategy of building an end-to-end AI services portfolio that spans cloud modernization, AI engineering, infrastructure management, automation, and managed services.

Why the Deal Matters

As organizations worldwide move from AI experimentation to enterprise-wide deployment, demand for resilient infrastructure and managed AI operations continues to rise. The acquisition positions Cognizant to deliver integrated AI infrastructure solutions while helping clients translate AI investments into measurable business outcomes.

By combining cloud expertise, AI engineering, and infrastructure management under one umbrella, Cognizant is reinforcing its position as a strategic technology partner for enterprises navigating large-scale AI adoption.
