3M terminates EVP, Michael Vale due to violation of company policy

3M has fired its chief business and country officer Michael Vale, effective May 12, 2023. His dismissal is due to inappropriate personal conduct and violation of company policy.

Michael Vale was the group president and chief business and country officer at 3M. His responsibilities included overseeing the company’s safety and industrial, transportation and electronics, and consumer business units, as well as country governance and emerging markets. The company’s headquarters is located in Minnesota, United States.

“His dismissal is due to inappropriate personal conduct and violation of company policy, unrelated to the company’s operations and financial performance,” the company said in a statement.

“When 3M learned of and verified the violation, it took immediate action”, the company added.

Effective immediately, the leaders of 3M’s Safety and Industrial Business, Consumer Business, and Transportation and Electronics Business report to 3M chairman and chief executive officer Mike Roman.
