Infosys Signs Multi-Year IT Transformation Deal with Metsä Group

Infosys has expanded its long-standing partnership with Finland-based forest industry company Metsä Group through a new multi-year agreement to modernise the company’s IT operations using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The company will also provide end-to-end IT services across Metsä Group’s global operations.

Infosys to Manage Global IT Services

As part of the engagement, Infosys will manage application management, cloud operations, workplace services, on-site IT/OT support and service desk operations across Metsä Group’s mills and office locations.

The company said the project is aimed at improving operational efficiency, increasing productivity and supporting future growth through automation, generative AI and data-driven IT management.

A key part of the transformation will be Infosys Topaz Fabric, the company’s AI platform, which will help automate IT operations, improve service delivery, reduce issue resolution time and optimise costs.

Kristiina Lammila, Chief Information Officer of Metsä Group, said the expanded partnership marks a new phase in the company’s long association with Infosys.

She said simplifying the IT sourcing model will help meet changing business needs and improve efficiency, adding that the company is confident the partnership will speed up its AI-driven IT transformation.

Ruchir Budhwar, Executive Vice President and Industry Head – Europe, Manufacturing, Infosys, said the forest industry is facing rising costs, increasing operational complexity and growing demand for AI-led innovation.

He said the expanded engagement reflects the trust built between the two companies over the years and will help Metsä Group modernise its IT operations while strengthening Infosys’ presence in Finland.
