Wipro Completes Acquisition of Olam Group’s Mindsprint

Wipro Limited has officially completed its acquisition of Mindsprint, the digital services arm of the Singapore-based food and agri-business giant Olam Group.
This milestone, announced on May 15, 2026, follows the receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals and marks the fulfillment of a strategic deal originally revealed in April.
Mindsprint Acquisition by Wipro: Strategic Farm-to-Fork Transformation
The acquisition is a pivotal component of Wipro’s eight-year strategic transformation agreement with Olam Group.
By absorbing Mindsprint, Wipro significantly bolsters its “farm-to-fork” capabilities.
The move integrates Mindsprint’s specialized domain expertise in commodity trading and supply chain management with the Wipro Intelligence™ suite—a unified platform of AI-powered solutions.
Mindsprint brings a workforce of over 3,200 professionals and a robust portfolio of proprietary intellectual property.
Key assets include Farmsprint® for plantation management and Tradesprint®, a comprehensive commodity trading and risk management platform.
These tools, combined with agentic AI-enabled procurement systems like Procuresprint®, position Wipro to deliver end-to-end digital transformation for the global food and agriculture sector.

Unlocking Growth and Operational Leverage
Vinay Firake, CEO of Wipro’s APMEA Strategic Market Unit, emphasized that the merger strengthens Wipro’s footprint in high-impact industries.
“Mindsprint’s expertise deepens our value chain capabilities and accelerates the global deployment of Wipro Intelligence™,” Vinay stated.
Wipro expects the integration to drive sustainable growth and provide operational leverage for Olam Group and its broader global client base.
Suresh Sundararajan, CEO of Mindsprint, noted that joining Wipro provides his team with a global stage and access to superior engineering and consulting resources.
Under the new structure, the entity will operate as “Mindsprint, a Wipro Company,” functioning as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
Financial and Industry Impact
Olam Group is a US$ 50+ billion enterprise majority-owned by Temasek Holdings. This deal represents one of the most significant consolidations in the agri-tech services space.
Financial advisory for the transaction was handled by Rothschild & Co. for Wipro and Avendus Capital for Olam Group.
The partnership underscores a broader industry trend of major tech firms acquiring niche, IP-heavy specialists.
These acquisitions allow firms to dominate specific vertical markets through AI-led innovation.
