In his new role, Vinay will lead HR operations, drive digital HR transformation, strengthen process excellence, and enhance employee experience across the organisation.
Extensive Experience
Vinay Bassi has been associated with Cipla for nearly six years. Before being elevated as Chief HR Operations, he served as Senior Vice President & Head HR Tech and Operations from January 2023 to July 2026.
Earlier, he was Vice President & Head HR Tech and Operations, leading HR technology, people operations and digital transformation initiatives.

With nearly four decades of experience in human resources, Vinay has held leadership roles across leading Indian and multinational organisations in the pharmaceutical, FMCG, manufacturing and engineering sectors.
Before joining Cipla, he was Chief Human Resources Officer at Arvind Limited, where he led HR and industrial relations across businesses in India and Africa, driving workforce transformation, organisational restructuring, strategic talent acquisition and HR technology adoption.
Earlier, he served as Director – Human Resources (CHRO) at Perfetti Van Melle, leading HR for over 3,000 employees and 5,000 outsourced associates while spearheading capability-building, restructuring and HRIS implementation projects.
His career also includes senior HR leadership roles at Onicra, Goodyear, PepsiCo, Ranbaxy Laboratories, Escorts Limited and PUNWIRE.

Vinay holds an MBA in HR from Punjabi University and a BA (Honours) in Economics and Geography from Mahindra College.
