Axis Max Life Insurance Appoints Mrinal Sinha as Chief People Officer

Axis Max Life Insurance has appointed Mrinal Sinha as its new Chief People Officer (CPO), further strengthening its leadership team.

In his new role, he will spearhead the company’s people and culture agenda, overseeing talent management, leadership development, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and workforce transformation initiatives to support the company’s long-term growth strategy.

Extensive HR Leadership Experience

A seasoned HR professional, Mrinal brings more than two decades of experience across the banking, insurance, technology, and automotive sectors.

Prior to joining Axis Max Life Insurance, he served as Senior Executive Vice President and Head of HR – Consumer Banking at Kotak Mahindra Bank. In this role, he led HR strategy for key consumer banking businesses, driving talent development, workforce planning, and organizational transformation initiatives.

Before Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mrinal was Chief Human Resources Officer at CARS24, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s people strategy during a period of rapid growth and business transformation.

Earlier, he spent nearly four years at Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance as Senior Vice President and Head of HR Business Partnering, Talent Management, and Employee Relations.

Notably, Mrinal is returning to the Max Life ecosystem, having previously served as Corporate Vice President – HR at Max Life Insurance from 2015 to 2017.

Earlier in his career, he spent over 11 years with ICICI Bank, where he held several senior HR leadership positions, including Zonal Head for North and South India, Zonal Head – Recruitment, and Senior Manager – Human Resources for the bank’s Canada operations. He began his professional journey with Polaris Software Labs.

He earned his MBA in Human Resource Management from XLRI Jamshedpur between 2000 and 2002.
