L&T Announces Board and Leadership Changes, Appoints P. Ramakrishnan as CFO

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Limited has approved a series of significant leadership and board-level changes, including the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer, induction of a new independent director, and re-appointments of senior executives.

The decisions were approved by the company’s Board of Directors at a meeting held on Friday.

Vijay Sankar Appointed Independent Director

The Board approved the appointment of Vijay Sankar as a Non-Executive Independent Director for a five-year term beginning May 27, 2026, subject to shareholder approval.

A qualified Chartered Accountant with an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Vijay Sankar currently heads The Sanmar Group, a diversified conglomerate with annual revenues of around US$1.6 billion.

He also serves on the boards of TVS Motor Company, Oriental Hotels Limited and Transport Corporation of India, besides being the Honorary Consul General of Denmark in Chennai.

Pramit Jhaveri and R. Shankar Raman Reappointed

The Board also approved the re-appointment of Pramit Jhaveri as a Non-Executive Independent Director for a second five-year term effective April 1, 2027.

Jhaveri previously served as CEO of Citibank India and Vice Chairman – Banking, Asia Pacific at Citi before retiring in 2019 after a 32-year career.

He currently advises Premji Invest and PJT Partners and serves on the boards of Bajaj Finance Limited and Bajaj Finserv Limited.

Meanwhile, R. Shankar Raman has been re-appointed as President and Whole-time Director – Finance for a further two-year term from October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2028.

However, he will cease to serve as the company’s Chief Financial Officer with effect from June 30, 2026.

P. Ramakrishnan Named New CFO

The Board approved the appointment of P. Ramakrishnan as the new Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel effective July 1, 2026.

A Chartered Accountant with over three decades at L&T, Ramakrishnan has handled key responsibilities across accounting, treasury, taxation, investor relations and risk management.

He previously served as CFO of L&T Technology Services and currently holds board positions in several L&T Group companies.
